The European combine have finally tamed the Kosovar side curse after a rollercoaster series. FaZe eliminated Bad News Eagles in the BLAST.tv Paris Major Legends Stage after a nail-biting series, bringing themselves back from the brink of defeat after they were a round away from elimination. The win marks FaZe's revenge over the Kosovar side, who eliminated them from the IEM Rio Major and beat them in the Paris RMR. "This win is huge, in Antwerp we won against them and we won the Major, hopefully we repeat that," said Robin "ropz" Kool in the post-match interview. "We're pretty poor at closing out maps, when we hit 14 or 15 we just can't close out, make a lot of mistakes, so we need to make sure we are still at 100% in those situations." He also touched on how they recovered from the first-map drubbing. "karrigan told us to play more as a team after Overpass, we got rekt on aim duels on the first map, which is what they want." FaZe stay alive with the win and move on to the 2-2 pool, where they will have one chance of making it to the playoffs. Their opponents will be known after round four comes to an end, but today's performance won't give them much confidence. For Bad News Eagles, this is the end of a heartbreaking road for them, coming so close with a wonderful performance but having nothing to show for it. Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg said that they should be proud of themselves, though, and we will no doubt see them surprise some teams at the next Major. The match started on Overpass, where FaZe were barely on the server in a 3-16 loss after a lackluster T side. They came back on Mirage to tie up the scores, but the map was far from straightforward as they failed to close out a 14-9 lead, only to do it in overtime. Inferno was another close map, with FaZe again struggling to finish the job. A 12-3 first half looked to have set their win in stone, but Bad News Eagles once again came back to 14-14 before running out of steam to suffer a gut-wrenching 16-14 loss. FaZe now live to fight another day and will no doubt be happy to finally beat the Kosovar side in an elimination match. The current standings of the Swiss stage are:FaZe
